Focus on CO₂ reduction and circularity

...already all set for the future.

Rotterdam Logistics Park is sustainable and future-proof

The European Union is rapidly implementing rules relating to sustainability and energy efficiency. Rules that, on top of that, are increasingly being tightened. From the very first design of RLP, future regulations have therefore even been taken into account. In terms of CO₂ and energy consumption, RLP is consequently already ready for the future.

When completed, the park is expected to feed as much as 40 per cent of its own generated electrical energy back to the grid, even during peak loads. The vegetation contributes to enhancing biodiversity and provides noise reduction and wind protection.

Cradle to cradle

Application of Cradle to Cradle optimized circular design leads to more conscious use of materials and raw materials. They are "designed-for-Disassembly", whereby maximum reuse possibilities of materials are taken into account in the design phase. This has a positive effect on cost savings and minimises the ecological burden on our planet.

CO₂-positive

RLP is Whole Life Carbon positive because, calculated over it’s entire life cycle, the buildings save more CO₂ than they consume. This is because the warehouses are equipped with solar panels. This makes them energy positive when calculated over the life cycle of the buildings.

CO₂ calculations

Unlike other parties, Delta chooses to take a holistic approach to its developments, we therefore chose to include the realisation of the outdoor area as well in measuring CO₂-emissions. This results in 198 kg CO₂ e/m². If we calculate the CO₂-emissions only for warehouse C, the emissions result in 409 kg CO₂ e/m². These values fall within the carbon budget set by the Dutch Green Building towards 2050.

ABC SQUARE AT SCHIPHOL TRADE PARK

One of our most recently completed projects contains 37,000 m² of high-quality commercial space, offices and multifunctional spaces. The design has received the very first VBI Greenscore Certificate in Netherlands and has been awarded a BREEAM Excellent predicate.

Fokker 7|8

The world's first Cradle to Cradle optimised logistics building delivered in 2016. For Fokker 7 and 8, Delta won the National Sustainability Steel Award that year.
